Availability of updated OpenAFS Client Installer for MacOS announced

Sine Nomine Associates is proud to provide availability of an updated version of our signed OpenAFS MacOS 10 client installer. As with the previously announced version, this is provided as a donation to OpenAFS.org through the OpenAFS Foundation.

This version of the signed installer fixes problems with the Finder's ability to access files over network filesystems other than CIFS. (Details in the Release Notes, below).

SNA included in IBM list of software developers supporting z/OS V2.2

IBM recently published a list of software developers indicating that they support z/OS V2.2. Sine Nomine Associates is included in the list providing support for NJE/IP Bridge as of September 1, 2016.

SNA Alumnus Partner in KPCB Edge

Former Sine Nomine Associates employee Roneil Rumburg has partnered with Anjney Midha and Ruby Lee in KPCB Edge, a new company with "a team of builders, investing in seed stage founders working on emerging areas of technology." While still in high school, Rumburg was employed as an intern with SNA before pursuing his college education at Stanford University.

LXFMT version 2.3 available for download

Sine Nomine is proud to announce version 2.3 of LXFMT is available for download. This version is a substantial rework of how disk geometry handling and volume formatting occurs, which should adapt better to new DASD types and be a bit more resilient to odds-and-ends that used to break things in unpredictable ways.

Sine Nomine Associates Sponsors Brazil Scientific Mobility Summer Intern

Sine Nomine Associates was proud to sponsor a student this summer as part of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Summer Internship program.

Our intern spent his summer doing research and development on the OpenAFS source code, preparing the code for IPv6 functionality. The existing code base assumes socket addresses are 32-bit.  Over the summer, our intern updated the code base to be IPv4/IPv6 neutral.
