Margarete Ziemer, has been selected as a finalist for the Washington D.C. region 23rd annual Women in Technology Leadership Award in the entrepreneur category. From her humble beginnings in East Germany, and after the Wall was brought down, she moved to the USA in 1992 to chase the American dream. There, she earned a MA in Austin and her Ph.D. at Princeton.

OpenAFS 1.8.8.1 is the next release in the current stable series of OpenAFS releases for UNIX/Linux systems. It adds support for current Linux mainline kernels (5.14, 5.15 and likely the upcoming 5.16), improves support for FreeBSD 12, and allows Solaris builds using Studio 12.6. Systems not requiring any of those changes can continue to use the 1.8.8 release. Read More at: https://www.openafs.org/
