Sine Nomine Associates, Inc., a leader in open-source development and support, is pleased to announce the OpenAFS development release team’s Holiday gift for OpenAFS users: OpenAFS 1.8.9 - Maintenance release is now available for download. This release brings performance and reliability enhancements, improved diagnostics, support for the latest Linux mainline kernel (currently 6.0) and recent FreeBSD releases, as well as a number of bug fixes.
 
On behalf of the OpenAFS Release Team, Stephan Wiesand (OpenAFS Release Manager) asks all users to please assist them by deploying this release and providing positive or negative feedback. Bug reports should be filed to openafs-bugs@openafs.org. Reports of success should be sent to openafs-info@openafs.org.
