The Flexible AFS Backup System (FABS) is a suite of tools and daemons
for managing backups for an AFS cell. FABS does not directly backup data
to long-term storage, but acts as a bridge between AFS and an existing
plain-file backup system. This approach allows FABS to integrate AFS
data into existing backup infrastructure regardless of backup software,
and avoids using vendor-specific APIs. FABS is freely available under a
permissive free software license, and commercial support is available

From her humble beginnings in East Germany, and after the Wall was brought down, she moved to the USA in 1992 to chase the American dream. There, she earned a MA in Austin and her Ph.D. at Princeton.

OpenAFS 1.8.8.1 - Maintenance release for UNIX/Linux

OpenAFS 1.8.8.1 is the next release in the current stable series of OpenAFS releases for UNIX/Linux systems. It adds support for current Linux mainline kernels (5.14, 5.15 and likely the upcoming 5.16), improves support for FreeBSD 12, and allows Solaris builds using Studio 12.6. Systems not requiring any of those changes can continue to use the 1.8.8 release. Read More at: https://www.openafs.org/
