This presentation is an introduction to how Linux runs in virtual hardware on S/390 and z/Series mainframes. It includes a discussion of the benefits and limitations of the mainframe environment relative to distributed RISC and CISC hardware, as well as a brief intro to virtual networking using mainframe hardware features, and discussion of the challenges of managing a virtual server farm.
